I told the man I love more than anything that I can't be with him because he's a potential risk to my family. Before that I had, intentionally or otherwise, allowed him to operate under the assumption that it was reasonable for me to never put him first in my life, even if he was first in my heart. I hurt him in nearly the worst way possible, and it isn't something that gets forgiven.

I guess I don't need to know if he is or not. Just you. Because if he does put your family in danger, didn't you say you had kids? They can't get out of the line of fire.

Perhaps. But it doesn't matter. It hurts, there is no going back, and I'm in a lot of trouble with everyone I know for this. Which includes the fact that I don't believe I'll be free on Wednesday...
